Welcome at your first day!

We have been looking forward to your arrival and we want to show you that’s the case too.
On your first day we make sure that you get a good idea of the way in which our company works and you get some information on what your personal training program will look like.

Do you work at Head Office?
Your first day is an informal day with a complete guided tour through the different departments, the production and the distribution centre. Furthermore you get all sorts of useful information about Van de Velde and you will be informed about the safety and rules and regulations within Van de Velde.
Your manager will of course spend some time with you that day. That way you get to know your direct colleagues and get some information about your personal training program.

Do you work in the Production or in the Distribution Centre?
On your first day your manager guides you through your department and introduces you to your colleagues. Furthermore you are being introduced to your “godmother/godfather”, who will help you settle in during your first month here. Our security adviser will give you some extra information about the different risks that go with the job and the procedures that were drawn up in order to be able to work in a safe way.
A couple of times per year we organise an extra “welcome” day, during which all new employees can have a look behind the scenes and get some extra information on staff policy, safety & health and the social label SA 8000.

Do you work in the International Sales?
For at least 1 week you will be at head office in Belgium (Schellebelle).
We feel that – as an external sales person for Van de Velde abroad – it is really important that you get to know your colleagues at head office you need to cooperate with on a regular basis. You get a tour through the different departments at Van de Velde, background information on marketing and our brands, and you get to meet the customer service department and other supporting departments that are relevant to you. Afterwards you join one of the representatives when they visit their customers before you start doing these visits yourself.
